Do the solar panels need to be mounted on my roof?
Solar panels are often mounted on roofs, but they can also be secured to the ground. Ground mounts are great if your house is shaded or obstructions limit available space on your roof. Recently, solar canopies (sometimes called 'solar carports' or 'shading structures') are becoming more popular, as well as building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) where the solar panels are used in a curtain wall or building facade.
On what type of roof may a solar energy system be installed?
Systems may be installed on any type of roof, ie, slate, shingle, barrel, standing seam, concrete, and clay.
Can solar panels be installed on a mobile home?
Certain mobile homes can be fitted for solar panels if the home is permanently ground mounted and if the existing structural qualities comply with the standards needed for our residential solar systems. To be certain, however, please contact Renergy Solar to schedule an evaluation.
I'm planning to build a new house. Is there anything I can do to make the solar energy system installation easier?
Flashable mounting brackets may be installed before laying the roof. We would be happy to consult with you regarding your new build while planning for the system install.
Renergy Solar grew out of Williamson Roofing, an established and successful local roofing company (www.williamsonroofing.com). If necessary, we can have a roofing professional conduct a free evaluation prior to installation.
